Special Note: Town Council approved amendments to the town’s Business License Program Ordinance at its April 2010 meeting. We encourage anyone who holds a business license with us to please review the entire ordinance as the details of this document outline specific municipal laws that certainly affect you and your business. Who Must Apply
A business license is required for all businesses and in-home businesses operating within our town limits. A separate license for each place of business is required. Those businesses without a Mountain Village physical address which are conducting temporary activities (i.e. building, housekeeping, landscaping, painting), or performing services on a contractual basis, must obtain a business license. In addition, anyone who advertises their home for purposes of short-term accommodations, must obtain a business license whether or not the home is actually rented.

Persons exempt from this provision are

• any persons exempt under federal or state law
• charitable organizations
• churches or established religious organizations
• employees of a licensee
• governments
• hospitals
• minors
• nonprofit organizations

Business License Steps
New and beginning 2012, we will utilize the electronic licensing and tax remittance system MUNIRevs. The steps to either renew or apply for a license with MUNIRevs are below.
  

1. Register or login to MUNIRevs

2. Complete a New Vendor Input Form (only applicable for a new vendor conducting business with the town in which payment is required from the town)
